New dataset on Spectral library of vegetation from Mediterranean woodlands
Specveg is a library of vegetation reflectance values of grass, shrubs, and trees (canopy and leaves) collected in a cork oak woodland. Spectral observations were acquired in-situ with a spectroradiometer (ASD FieldSpec3, Malvern Panalytical, Boulder, USA) in the range 350-2300nm. Data were collected roughly monthly from 2011 to 2019.
In-situ spectral measurements of vegetation provide a ground-truth that can be usefully employed for (i) establish robust relationships between biophysical properties of vegetation and reflectance values; (ii) downscale efficiently remote sensed information which correct interpretation is threatened by sun angle, atmosphere interference and canopy structure.
